Our story.
Organising starts with your story.
Our story began at 23 Dunn St, Warragul.
Dunn St was the housing commission estate where my parents began their Australian journey.
In 1957 they left their families behind in Glasgow, Scotland to come to Australia because they had big dreams and bold plans.
They wanted to raise a family in a country that could provide better opportunities in education, health and employment.
Dunn St was the beginning of a new journey, the start of a young family, a new community of friends and the prospect of a better life.
Dunn St was where hopes and dreams would become reality.
Dunn St was where action led to change.
Taking action, organising for change and doing big things is what drives DUNN STREET today.
Back in 2012 I sought to drive political and cultural change to the Australian Labor Party by introducing modern grassroots organising as a central campaign strategy for Labor.
From that came an unprecedented grassroots movement - the Community Action Network.
Over 10,000 volunteers - united by shared values and common goals - mobilised to hold millions of values-based persuasion conversations with targeted voters that helped elect Dan Andrews as Premier of Victoria in 2014 and then re-elect his Labor government in 2018.
Grassroots organising is now crucial to Labor’s electoral campaign success in Australia and New Zealand.
Today, DUNN STREET is committed to taking your big ideas and making them a reality.
With the learnings of the past six years we’ll provide data-driven solutions combining grassroots organising and mobilisation with online engagement to build winning campaigns and achieve strategic goals for businesses, progressive organisations and social democratic parties across the globe.
This is our story, now let’s hear yours.
